Back in October last year when we launched ‘Rock da House’ the response from Funky House and Soulful House DJ’s was quite outstanding. The interest in this gem of a record with its silky vocals and joyful melodies has continued to grow, culminating in a number of remixes from high profile djs who fell in love with the original and the results are stunning. We’ve streamlined the new productions to four mixes, with prominence going to Man of the Moment- Kinky Roland who’s given it those big heavy sounds that we all love so much; and the Up and Coming- Joe Jamato who’s nudged the track into Electro-territory and the results are smooth and crunchy at the same time, while the soulful heads have the original to drool over. We’ll be giving this record the big push it deserves and we are hoping you too will support it.
Rock da House is soulful, melodic and deeply optimistic, with four mixes to choose from:
1.Original mix- has that traditional soulful bassline, percussions riding on an unforgettable groove: with Carrie’s silky voice soaring deep into the night reminding one of those warm beautiful summer’s day. 2..KINKY ROLAND REMIX: This is classic Kinky, big, luscious faintly reminiscent of the big 90´s dance tunes with it’s breakbeats and piano riffs. Absolutely infectious; a must listen. 3.JOE JAMATO Electro-Remix: is a proper electro-explosion, in your face record: equally suited to the Underground and commercial scene. 4.Radio Edit: 4 minutes of soulful radio bliss.
About Carrie Harrington: Sounds of Blackness have, over the years, created some astounding music combining sensational grooves, tight group vocals and a selection of diva soloists. Carrie Harrington is the latest to come out of this school of supremely talented Singer/Songwriters; with a positive outlook, great consciousness and a truly breathtaking voice.
Teaming up with hot dance producers TWM seems like a very logical step in the careers of both. For Harrington it was a chance to work with one of the hottest re-mixers coming out of the underground UK Dance scene and for TWM, it was a chance to improve their credentials with a bona-fide name providing the lyrical and melodic bed on which to lay their intrinsic funky grooves.
